It is sad what your are going to read. As we already told you before, we brought a puppy from Russia, Sant Kreal, Beladonna. We had all our illusions and expectations on a new puppy. We started surfing on the internet and we found Sant Kreal Kennel, we saw they had a new litter, sire and dame were really beautiful. We got in contact with Elena and one month later we had Beladonna at home. Her
qualities were evident and her blood was going (and is going) to contribute
to get big dogs in our kennel. Impatient and proud we could not wait
for the shows season to start, but destiny is not always in our side,
and one morning, when she was 4 months old she was run over by a tractor
(50 hp). Her shouts of pain only made us imagine she would be destroyed,
we had no doubts we had lost her, but our surprise was big when we saw
that the wheel of the tractor only happened over its right back leg The
fracture was ''clean'' but in a 4 months old puppy, complications may
be a lot. There was great chances of muscular contracture and that femur
fractured was not developed just as the other, and as you know, an active
dobermann puppy is not easy to mantain quiet during the first 20 days
after the surgery, no doubt the most critical days. The
first two weeks were perfect but negligences we all have, and althought
we were always watching her, we think in some moment she made some efforts
and inopportune movements that we did not notice, she began to be sad
and hardly wanted to eat. New diagnosis: UPROOTED DISPLACEMENT OF the
INSERTED PLATE and LOOSE
SCREWS. In this occasion the bone was chipped. She went to surgery again and two nails throughout her femur were inserted. With an antibiotics treatment (five daily injections) during the 10 first days, that later we would replace and arrange with tablets,, her long time rehabilitation began. Like to all animal friends, all this bad luck
left us a unique and irreplaceable satisfaction, Beladonna is still
with us and we are sure that if within the ring she was going to give
great joys to us, in daily life she will continue giving us unforgettable
moments. We thank for the professionalism and dedication that Dr. Renato Asprella, Veterinarian and Traumatology Specialist, lent us, his services made possible that we maintain a dream: that Beladonna returns to be the happy bitch that arrived from Russia to share the rings with many and new friends.
